At AutoGuard Naija, we strive to ensure your satisfaction while protecting our business
fairly. In accordance with Nigerian consumer law, customers have the right to receive
goods of satisfactory quality and to return defective or incorrect items. Therefore, we only
accept returns for auto parts that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect (not for change
of mind or fit).
• Defective or Damaged Items: Products that arrive broken, malfunctioning, or
visibly damaged can be returned. AutoGuard Naija will repair, replace or refund
such items promptly.
• Incorrect Items: If you received a different part than ordered, return it for a
replacement or refund. This includes wrong model, part number, or specifications.
• Timeframe – 7 Days: All return requests must be initiated within 7 days of delivery.
This 7-day window is consistent with best practice (for example, Jumia Nigeria’s 7-
day policy. Items reported after 7 days are not eligible.
• Original Condition: Returns must be unused and in the same condition you
received them. All original packaging, manuals, tags, and accessories must be
included.
• Proof of Purchase: A receipt or order invoice is required to process any return.
Please have your order details ready when contacting us.
• Inspection: Returned items will be inspected by our team. Refunds or exchanges
are processed after we verify the item is indeed defective or incorrect.
To protect safety, hygiene, and our margins, certain items cannot be returned:
• Opened Liquids or Hazardous Fluids: Sealed fluids (like engine oil, coolant, brake
fluid, etc.) cannot be returned once opened. These are considered flammable or
hazardous and are non-returnable for safety reasons. (Unopened, unused fluids
may be covered if defective.)
• Perishable or Consumable Goods: Items that spoil or deteriorate (e.g. certain
batteries or cleaners) are not eligible for return.
• Used or Misused Items: Any part that has been installed, used, or damaged by
improper handling is not returnable.
• Sale or Clearance Items: Unless found defective, items sold as final/clearance are
not eligible for return.
• Our Error or Defect: If the return is due to our mistake (a defect, damage in transit,
or wrong item), AutoGuard Naija will cover the return shipping costs.
• We may provide a prepaid shipping label or reimburse you for the postage.
• Customer’s Request or Other Reasons: If you are returning an eligible item for any
other reason, you are responsible for the cost of shipping it back.
• Choice of Remedy: Upon approval of an eligible return, you may choose either a
refund or an exchange. This aligns with Nigerian consumer rights to a refund or
replacement for defective goods.
• Refunds: Refunds will be issued to your original payment method as soon as the
returned item is received and inspected. We aim to process refunds promptly after
validation.
• Exchanges: If you prefer an exchange, we will ship the replacement item (subject to
stock availability) once your return is received.
• Consumer Rights: This policy is designed in line with Nigeria’s Consumer
Protection guidelines. We commit to clear, fair terms as recommended by the
Consumer Protection Council/FCCPC (e.g. specifying conditions, timeframe, and
procedures for returns)). Your statutory rights are always preserved.
• Data Protection: Any personal information you provide during a return (such as
name, address, contact, order details) is processed strictly for return handling and
is secured per Nigeria’s Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
We use industrystandard measures to protect your data and only retain it as needed for the return.
If you have questions or need to initiate a return, please contact our customer service
within the return window. We are committed to resolving legitimate return issues quickly
while providing a clear, customer-friendly process.
